Tony Verbruggen was a court journalist for a quality newspaper, but was fired there after a bribery scandal in which he kept information from the newspaper for a fee. As a result, he had to take a job at the sensation-seeking tabloid Express. Editor-in-chief Danielle Polspoel does not shy away from lying, as long as the language remains more simple and sensational. Tony's wife Isabelle has thrown him out on the street, only his daughter Eva still cares about her father's fate. He does agree with his colleagues journalist Eric De Moor and photographer Yvette Willems, but he should not expect any gifts from Express's best-known journalist, Yvo Sterckx. The team is reinforced by Ellen De Vos.
