The misadventures of three anthropomorphic chipmunk brothers named Alvin, Simon and Theodore and their human father figure, Dave Seville. The Alvin Show was based on a successful series of novelty records by Seville (real name, Ross Bagdasarian) who had earlier scored a hit record with "Witch Doctor." Adding to the hijinks are the well-remembered exploits of that not-so-great inventor, Clyde Crashcup. Later revived in the 1980s by Bagdasarian's son as Alvin and the Chipmunks.
