Marvel Studios announced that Synchrony Bank, a promotional partner on Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” is donating a $50,000 grant to the Ghetto Film School Fellows program. The Synchrony Families That Work charitable program focuses to alleviate childcare responsibilities for working families by supporting quality afterschool, summer and weekend programs for kids, like the summer Fellows Program, which aims to educate, develop and celebrate the next generation of great American storytellers.
On Saturday, January 27, the film’s director, Ryan Coogler, attended the Fellows Session at Ghetto Film School in Los Angeles where he surprised 30 students by announcing the $50,000 grant and inviting them to the world premiere of Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated “Black Panther.”
The 30 students attended the world premiere of the movie on Monday, January 29, in Los Angeles and received prime spots on the red carpet to view the talent arrivals.
