The Hidoro gang, which previously controlled the town of Barato, have been wracked by infighting after being split by the ambitious Umakichi. After Hijikata and Ogata separately learn the gang has a tattooed skin, Hijikata joins the Hidoro gang, while Ogata joins the Umakichi gang.
