The Horde Part 12

Sent north to Ashenvale forest, Grom bitterly followed Thralls decision, even if he felt that as one of the Horde's greatest warriors he should be used for battle instead of playing lumberjack. Fortunately for him the deforestation of Ashenvale did not sit well with the natives, the night elves regarded these green brutes with arrogance and contempt thinking they would be easy prey as the forest was their domain, so they attacked with savagery and subtlety. They were wrong in their assumptions though, the Warsong held their own and strip-mined a good chunk of the forest. That is until the Demigod Cenarius showed up and with a rightous fury proclaimed "Who dares defile these ancient lands! Who dares the wrath of Cenarius and the Night elves!"

This gave Grom and his clan a bit of trouble fortunately they found a well filled with demon blood. Not just any demon the demon who made the Orcs what they were and what they are now,the blood of Mannoroth... Grom was the first to drink and then compelled all of his Orcs to follow his lead. Renewed by fresh demonic energy the Warsong Clan slew the great Cenarius and at the end of it all Mannoroth appeared before Grom and brought him back into the Burning Legion.

When Thrall got news of this he had to confront him, and, with the help of Jaina and the humans he thwarted Grom's plans and captured him in a soul gem. Through the help of priests and shamans he cleansed Grom of his curse and together they went to kill Mannoroth for the sake of Orcs everywhere. As they entered the lair of the beast, Thrall attacked first but Mannoroth shrugged it off and counter attacked knocking Thrall out, however Grom was still standing and he totally pwned Mannoroth and as the beast died he exploded and released large amounts of energy which in turn mortally injured the orc, he turned to his warchief and said "Thrall, the bloodhaze has lifted, the demons fire has burnt out in my veins I have freed myself" and with those words Grom Hellscream died.

With that the blood curse of the Orcs was gone, but the war was not over yet. The Burning Legion made its way through Ashenvale with the intent to drain the world tree and what remains of the well of eternity. The night elves realized that being enemies with the Horde would accomplish nothing so they allied with them against the Legion and its scourge. Together the combined mortal races of Azeroth held them off as long as they could until the spirits of the forsest killed Archimonde. With the legion finally banished the Orcs can settle down and rebuild their civilization, they had known war for too long and Thrall looked forward to leading the Horde into a time of peace....

However peace was not on Azeroths menu.
