Lore For Noobs - The Horde (Part 8)
Soon after the portal's opening, Teron Gorefiend, his ever loyal death knights, along with the orc warrior Pargath Throatsplitter had snuck into Stormwind, infiltrated the royal library where they sought the first of the three artifacts Ner'zhul needed to create portals to the many worlds around the universe, the spell book of Azeroth's mightiest mage, the Book of Medivh. However, Upon arriving at the books supposed location, it was missing. Clues as to where that book might now be were in the form of a dead guard and a dagger with the seal of Kingdom of Alterac.
Shortly after, Teron Gorefiend, chose two orc chieftans, Tagar Spinebreaker and Fenris Wolfbrother and together they travelled to Blackrock mountain where they met with the Blackrock clan's chieftain and self-proclaimed 'warchief' Rend Blackhand, as well as his brother Maim. The two brothers, who had been aged pre-maturely by warlocks, stubbornly refused to help Ner'zhul, wanting to build their own 'new' Horde.
Teron Gorefiend and the agents of the Horde needed the dragons that the Blackrock clan commanded, and tried several times to talk the stubborn chieftain into cooperating but to no avail.
Later the party had camped up, disappointed by the day's events and left with no way to Alterac or a way to carry out the rest of their plan, but fortunately for them, their work and their world had come in the interest of one of Azeroth's greatest beings, the dragon aspect, Deathwing. Deathwing offered them the help of his flight, in exchange for safe passage through the Dark Portal for him, his kind and some 'special cargo' and to this the orcs agreed, what could possibly go wrong about hosting a giant dragon of death in their world?
The party split up, Teron Gorefiend, his Death Knights, Deathwing himself and a few orc warriors went flying towards Alterac, where they found Perenolde and the traitor king agreed to give them the book if they'd help him out. The Alliance had taken over the Kingdom of Alterac after it's king's betrayal, and had stationed forces in the land, especially close to the king's home and Aiden Perenolde asked the Death Knights to slay the human invaders in exchange for the book, and not soon after did Deathwing and his dragons incinerate all of the Alliance's forces in the area.
Elsewhere, Fenris Wolfbrother and Tagar Spinebreaker and their clansmen had taken dragons to the Alliance outpost and port town, Menethil Harbor, where they took control of three boats that would sail them to the Broken Isles where they would give the Tomb of Sargeras a visit for the second artifact. However, the humans discovered their theft and sounded the alarm, signaling the Kingdom of Kul Tiras to send ships and come to the town's aid. The ships had nearly chased down the rowing orcs but fortunately for them, their dragon allies showed up incinerating most of the naval forces, giving the orcs a chance to escape. And escape they did, allowing them to finnaly reach the Broken Isles.
They went down into the tomb, and after some searching they found what they were looking for, it was the Jeweled Scepter of Sargeras, the only problem was, it was in the hands of a huge, deadly and vicious demon who threatened to suck their souls out when it had slain them, jolly feller. The orcs, thirty and the demon one, defeated the beast and Fenris quickly took the scepter, eager to leave the place where history's mightiest warlock had been killed by demons. However, Ragnok who was one of Teron Gorefiend's death knights, had felt another powerful artifact not too far from the scepter, and wanted them to retrieve it too, for the sake of it's power. The chieftains refused, to Ragnok's disapproval but the death knight didn't force them to do as he asked.
