The moon has always inspired researchers, artists and human desires. But despite our great interest and a few landings on our heavenly companion, our knowledge is patchy. Thanks to new missions - especially from the Chinese side - these gaps in knowledge about the moon and the early days of the solar system could soon be closed a little more.
