“Girlboss” is often used as a term of empowerment. It's meant to refer to a new generation of confident, take-charge women who pursue their own ambitions—and who aren’t beholden to anyone else. But on screen, the Girlboss is often portrayed as somewhere between satire and villainy. How did we come to love to hate this 21st-century spin on the working woman?
