Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart give Architectural Digest a tour of their new show's set. The show is called, "Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party", and it airs on VH1. Stewart notes that the kitchen has a 'split personality' with her side boasting a lot of copper and Snoop's side sporting a lot of gold and herbs. The duo love the faux bois wallpaper.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg Are Hosting a Cooking Show Together
The open-minded lifestyle experts invite famous guests to learn about and celebrate their differences on Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party
In the pantheon of odd couples, Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg may be the most unexpected to outside viewers. But the lifestyle doyenne insists that her friendship with the rap icon “is a natural fit. We both put priorities on family and have been through long careers in our respective fields. While those fields may be vastly different, we have a lifetime of stories and experiences to share with each other,” Stewart says. “Snoop is smart, talented, driven, a bright businessman, funny, handsome, and a caring friend. I respect him immensely.” In that light, it makes a lot of sense that she would team up with the artist formerly known as Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on a new cooking show that combines the duo’s contrasting styles to pop-culture perfection.
In Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, the pair offers an educational alternative to the competitive cooking programming that’s currently on television. “It’s not a challenge show or a contest,” Stewart says. “It’s really more of a talk show, where each episode has a theme tied to food and cooking, and we get all of our guests involved in the process,” including Seth Rogen, Wiz Khalifa, and chef Masaharu Morimoto. “Then, in the end, we sit at the table to chat and enjoy the meal together.”
In addition to the expert tips and advice on offer, one thing the live studio audience will learn is just how different Stewart’s and Snoop’s aesthetic preferences are. “The idea was to have a split-personality kitchen,” she says. On her side, the kitchen follows a familiar farmhouse-chic model, with marble countertops, faux-bois wallpaper, subway tile, and a clean palette of creams and copper. Snoop’s side is another story, clad in purple and gold and, in her words, “blinged-out, as they say. It’s a great representation of him,” she says, noting that she’s a “big fan of all of Snoop’s gold tools and accessories.” But perhaps her favorite style statement? “His purple sparkly stand mixer is one of a kind, just like Snoop.”
