Tom Selleck stars as Jesse Stone, an ex-Los Angeles homicide detective whose alcoholism forced him to downsize his career and take a job as a small town police chief. When Stone investigates the town's first ever murder, he soon finds himself embroiled in a hunt for serial killers who seem determined to make him a victim as well. Complications arise when a young girl's parents reveal she was raped and Stone orders his team to investigate the charges while keeping both crimes under the radar of national press, state police and FBI.
