A genuine surprise! Disney sequals have a less than stellar reputation, but this movie isn't one of those. The animation is theatrical quality, Cinderella feels like the Cinderella from the 50s original, the Prince receives a much needed personality, the story is interesting, capitulating and endearing and we get some much needed depth to Cinderella and the Prince's romance. There are some silly tropes, and the wacky mouse adventures are cute but meh and the music is adequate but forgettable.

This one is actually one of the best. It showed that Cinderella didn't even had to have magical help to win the Prince's heart. Not only that--slight spoiler alert--a character gets redeemed.
