No Mercy

Maverick Chicago detective Eddie Jillette (Richard Gere) gets a tip that a couple is arriving from out of town looking for a hitman - and that the woman, Michel (Kim Basinger), is drop-dead gorgeous. Eddie poses as the hitman, but the operation goes south and his partner is brutally murdered. Following Michel back to New Orleans, Eddie soon learns she belongs to a shadowy figure named Losado (Jeroen Krabbé). To bring him out in the open, Eddie abducts Michel and they escape, handcuffed together, into the bayou country. Only then does he learn that the murder wasn't her fault at all - that she was sold as a young girl to Losado, a drug dealer and slave trader. Just as they're falling in love, their pursuers close in, and Jillette must confront Losada in an explosive climax where there is No Mercy.
