I think this was a movie made specifically for teen girls in the 80's since the overall lesson of the movie is, "some young men want to do "adult stuff" with you even when you're not ready for that stuff". I'm only saying this because the humor is light yet slapstick-ish, but the drama (which there is much of) is centered around teen girl angst. Also, lots of swearing from very young children (GD and S words) so not something to show your kids unless your fine with this.

This film packs humour, friendship, and serious life lessons all for me to watch on my screen. Not exactly everything to mimic, or imitate, however the show displays where family needs to step up, and show support for one another, in a meaningful way.

An amazing movie from John Candy. I remember watching this moving while being stuck in the van on long family road trips. It brings me back in time and I love every minute of it. An excellent family movie, and an all time classic.
