This movie is horrible. The book is amazing and the movie was too. Or at least I thought it was. I watched the new one with my friend Simon and Mila. They loved it. And Hathaway was a little over acting the Grand High Witch. Still I recommend you to watch it. In the new movie the grand High witch was talking for long periods of time and it was kind of annoying. But I wanted to show Simon and Mia the old one. They hated it and when I thought about it I hate it too. It's just boring. ๐ฅ๐ซ๐ ๐2020

This movie is an excellent adaptation of the book until the wimpy and disappointing end, which reverses the ending of the book. Spoiler alert: in the book, the young boy remains a rat, with the amazing plan that he (and his grandmother) will sneak into all the witch castles of the world to destroy the evil creatures once and for all! In the film, one rogue "nice" witch reverses the spell on the boy so he becomes a boy again. This milquetoast ending also means that witches around the world will continue to kill children for thousands of years to come...so, it's a stupid ending. Angelica Huston is amazing, though.
