I thought I'd seen every piece of footage and scrap of film about Bowie, but somehow I missed this one. Lots of footage I've never seen. This is definitely one for people who are interested in rock biographies. It does a great job of giving you a feel for the time in which David was born and how he evolved. Pretty good interviews. No songs, that would've been nice. Overall worth watching. A perfect rainy Sunday afternoon doc for the David Bowie geek! I think the die hard fan will like this, but the casual fan might enjoy it a bit also.

Dozens of documentaries have been made about Bowie, some of them hugely illuminating, but something unknowable about him always left lurking at the centre. For me, the most compelling part of this is hearing his friends and lovers tell how David Jones from Beckenham struggled to get himself off the ground. It’s worth watching just for this.
