About this movie

When Josey Aimes (Academy Award winner CHARLIZE THERON) returns to her hometown in Northern Minnesota after a failed marriage, she needs a good job. A single mother with two children to support, she turns to the predominant source of employment in the region - the iron mines. The mines provide a livelihood that has sustained a community for generations. The work is hard but the pay is good and friendships that form on the job extend into everyday life, bonding families and neighborhoods with a common thread. MPAA Rating: R (c) 2005 Warner Bros. Certainly timely in 2017! I don't remember when this case was going on, but it's great to see it after the fact. Nice performances, but it seemed to lack some theatrical passion which would result in a 5-star rating.

Good to see a realiastic movie on sexual harassment in the workplace where the majority are men. I worked construction jobs for 2 years in the 70s and experienced very similar conditions. I just wanted to earn a decent wage too.

This movie really helps to see the world in a different perspective, the reality that there was sexual harassment in the workplace and women could''t do anything about it if they didn't have the support from others. Glad that women came forth from the Northern Country.
