Blu Sky's first animated film may not be spectacular as Shrek, but it is such a light-hearted diversion that will strongly charm the whole family. The cast is a superb choice for what kinds of animals the characters are, what personalities do they have, and for a comedy like this, the voice performances from that cast is very amusing indeed. The comedy is splendid, because of the witty script, the clever screenplay, the swift reflexes, the voice-acting, excellent timing, and the tone that was used at the right place at the right time. David Newman's score is very good, it is very colorful, incredibly rousing, and tenderly soft, but it's not the best score, because there are moments of acoustic guitars in the score that are not a perfect choice for a movie about prehistoric creatures, but the song "Send me on the way" in this film is a good choice for the tone of the film and it helps with the travel of this triple odd couple. When it comes to the standpoint of animated comedies,The animation is brightly colored, very charming, and beautifully rendered in CGI. The plotting to this triple odd couple is very well handled, because they started off as strangers (not in a mean way, but not in a welcoming way either) but when they go over any risky obstacle by using teamwork, heart, brains, brawn, and courage, they become friends. My main issue with this film is that there are a few moments of modern talk for a prehistoric creature film like "petting zoo" for instance, but there are a few more. The story is easy to follow without being thin as a wafer or even paper. The character's personalities and motives are simply genius, because these characters showed us how relatable they are, and has reflected some of the individuals that the character's personalities are based on. To conclude: Ice Age is a witty animated film that is beautifully charming and heart-warming that will definitely delight every age from 6 to 96. Highly recommended.

I was very surprised to see this pop up on my youtube account as something I had bought for 12.99, I freaking out going through all my transaction history trying to figure out where this came from... Turns out a recent android device activation must have gave me this (and a planet earth film) for free... Very confusing Google, PLEASE FIX! Maybe this review will help others who see the same thing. Also, it was a good movie, haven't watched it in a few years.

I give Ice Age a 9.8/10 Pros: Scrat, the comedy, The Nostalgia, it just has a Charming feel, the jokes slap, the characters are funny, Ray Romano is in this movie, I enjoyed this movie more than Shrek fight me, Sid the sloth is a punching bag but he is funny nonetheless, the dodo scene, there is 4 other movies and I actually enjoyed all of them with a grain of salt even Collision Course which is sitting at a sad 18% at Rotten Tomatoes Cons: that f**king horrific a** baby mother f**ker
