Don't title things for a boost. This is not Jem and the Holograms, nor is it a good movie. It's more like a really bad version of Josie and the pussycats from 2001(which ,BTW, also did not have much to do with its source material but still managed to make a really funny movie). Watch josey and the pussycats instead of this, your welcome.

If the director had the intention to follow the original cartoon it failed miserably. Although if it was to send a message to any youth that we all have voices, self worth and individuality then they hit the nail on the head. This movie displays values that our youth sometimes forgets. I watched this with my daughter and listened to the messages in the songs and in the you tube clips closely. I reminded her that she has to follow her heart and be who she wants to be. No one defines her but her.

Oh boy, as a movie on it's own, it's pretty forgettable, but as an adaption of a cartoon from the 80's, it's actually making me watch Transformers, it's a bland run of the mill, cookie cutter, paint by numbers story with nothing interesting, and what they did to the characters is just ridiculous, Synergy is a bargain store knock-off of BB-8, the Jerrica doesn't become Jem through some holographic technology, and they turned Eric Raymond into a woman named Erica Raymond, it's that bad, if you are gonna watch this stupid movie, best get your buddies and go all MST3K on it, or just wait for when Rifftrax put's out something for this
