Melinda Gordon communicates with earthbound spirits and acts as an intermediary between the ghosts and those they haunt. Her mission is to help them find emotional closure. Her husband, Jim, continues to worry about the toll it's taking on his wife. Melinda, in turn, fears the consequences of drawing those close into her unconventional world.
