Dona Maria da Graça is a hardworking and humorous woman who supports her family with the money she earns as a beggar at the traffic lights in Rio de Janeiro. She is the mother of 14 children, although only 6 live with her: the booth worker Sara Jane, the creative Miqui Jegue, who is always looking to create something to earn money, the beautician Marraia Karen, the rebellious teenager Briti Sprite, the confused Maico, who does not know he wants out of life yet, and Pablo, who has just left jail.
