Volbecs are a species of alien birds. They live on a distant planet, and feed on the colors of the rainbow. The young explorer volbec arrives on Earth. He goes from discovery to discovery, tasting the plants, flowers and objects that he finds there. Helped by meeting companions, rats, pelicans, his finds also make him feel human feelings, although he never meets any human beings.
