At a fair in the Sertão of Bahia, Eleutério (Reginaldo Faria) considered buying a strange relic: a little devil stuck inside a bottle, which he kept hidden despite the protests - from the maids, the settlers and his wife Nena. When, however, his wife died after the couple's child was born, it was not long before the people blamed the little devil for the event. And, worse than that, attribute to him the paternity of the newborn. Time passed, the boy grew, and the story was perpetuated. The beautiful and restless Jose Eleutério (Eriberto Leão), known as Zeca, won and lived up to the fame he brought from the cradle. Wherever he came he was regarded as the "son of the devil." Courageous, created by these roads, Zeca was collecting stories along his walks, feeding the people's belief and making the devil's story a legend. With an adventurous spirit, as he followed his entourage along the roads, he defied death by mounting brave bulls, taming donkeys and bucks. Wherever she passed, she left her story and the hearts of the young girls sighing. Zeca went to Rio de Janeiro and stayed there for eight years studying. He returned to his father's farm, near the city of Paraíso, with a degree in Law and Agronomy. And it was codenamed "pawn dotô". Little interested in the titles, what he really wanted was to follow the roads mounted on his horse. With the diplomas hanging on the wall, he set out in a procession, not imagining the surprise that awaited him, snatching his heart forever. On the way home, Zeca and his friend Terêncio (Alexandre Nero) ran on their mounts along the dirt road that led to Eleutério's farm (Reginaldo Faria). That is why she has never had many stories to tell, except the one that has been with her since she was a girl: that she is a saint. The Blessed Mother, Mariana (Cassia Kis Magro), raised her in church attending Mass and listening to prayers. That was not enough, she promised that her daughter would become a nun and spent her life feeding versions about her sanctity. His father, the farmer Antero (Mauro Mendonça), never had the strength to fight the stories invented by the woman. On the day of her daughter's ordination, Antero celebrated when the Mother Superior confirmed what he already knew: Maria Rita had no vocation for celibacy. Mariana despaired, wept copiously and rebelled with the choice of the young woman, who finally returned home. In fact, it was fate. Maria Rita understood this only when her eyes met those of the devil's son. This is the incredible love story of Zé Eleutério and Maria Rita. He, the "son of the devil", and she, the "little girl", in a small town called Paradise. Love that grows more fierce when Santinha, praying in her bedroom, finds the "miracle" of saving Zé Eleutério, who was crippled by having suffered a fall in a contest of pawns of herdsmen.
