In 1982, Universal Studios sued Nintendo claiming that Donkey Kong was a trademark infringement on Universal's King Kong. Nintendo eventually won that case and retained full rights to one of its classic characters. Fast forward to 2021, nearly 40 years later, and guess where Super Nintendo World theme parks are opening? That's right. Within Universal Studios, first in Japan, and soon in Florida. It is rumored that a Donkey Kong expansion is planned so maybe one day you can visit the theme parks and see both King Kong and Donkey Kong on the same day.
