No, it’s not just you. TV and movies are getting darker. So…why? Recent teaser images for Wicked and trailers like The Little Mermaid's have raised the debate once more about why TV and movies seem too hard to look at right now. The Batman, Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods and House of the Dragon have all been singled out for their overly dark compositions. So, is this simply bad filmmaking, a stylistic choice we’re going to have to adjust to, or something else?
