In this episode of 'Celebrity Homes', E! gives Architectural Digest a look at the design process behind Caitlyn Jenner’s living room and bedroom makeover.

Caitlyn is coming out, again. People often describe interior design as an exercise in autobiography. For Caitlyn Jenner—whose journey of self-actualization has captured national attention and shined a blazing light on transgender issues—the decor of her knockout Malibu aerie is simply one more way of showing a brave new face to the world.
“Caitlyn always lived in beautiful houses, but designing them was Kris Jenner’s domain—Caitlyn wasn’t really involved. This time, she really wanted to put her personal stamp on the house,” says New York–based designer Lori Margolis, who worked with Jenner on outfitting the Malibu house.
Although the sports legend and reality-TV star had some trepidation at first—“I had no idea where to start,” Jenner confessed on a recent episode of I Am Cait, her E! television series—she quickly found her footing, selecting an array of furnishings that blends a distinctly California beachy vibe with a touch of Hollywood glamour.
Her favorite piece in the house is the sprawling 12-foot-long Homenature sofa perched in the living room, which was custom sized to fit her statuesque, 6'2" frame—and to accommodate as many Jenners and Kardashians as possible. A pair of lounge chairs covered in Tibetan lamb’s wool from Loft Thirteen was likewise custom tailored with comfort in mind.
With stunning ocean and mountain views (and a 12-foot-long sofa from Homenature), Caitlyn Jenner's monochromatic living room provides an ideal setting to entertain her extended network of family and friends. Ethereal curtains from Diamond Foam & Fabric and a Moroccan carpet from Silk Road Oriental Rugs soften the modernist lines of the room. The lounge chairs covered in Tibetan lamb’s wool were custom sized for Jenner’s 6'2" frame by Loft Thirteen, and the chandelier is by Lindsey Adelman.

“Caitlyn has been making so many physical and emotional changes in the past year. She wanted her home to reflect not just her sense of style but her journey. She wanted something soft and feminine but also something that has strength,” Margolis says.
Jenner appears content with the results of her decorating adventure, drawing a natural parallel between the design of her home and the transformation of her life: “I think what this transition has done for me is that for the first time in my life I am able to express myself.”
