But up until recently, there’s always been an acceptance that these theories were… well, a little unhinged. But now, conspiracy theories are driving more traffic than ever, and conspiracy theorists have cleaned up their image a little. They’re now using traditional news tactics like documentaries to disseminate their material. As a result, these theorists become legitimized, and they’re gathering huge traction online. So are people simply becoming so distrustful of those in charge that conspiracy theories seem like the most logical explanation, or is it genuinely getting harder to separate the real news from the fake news?
