The plot centers on the sentimental conflicts of the Forrester family, a lineage operating in the high-end fashion industry. Brooke Logan-Forrester, the main protagonist of this TV series, is a young woman who has had the uniqueness of being in turn the wife, mistress or lover of every male in the family. In addition to having had affairs with her eldest daughter's first three spouses (including a child with the first and an in vitro child with the second, a child that was carried by Taylor Hayes, wife of the last at the time, Nick), she was also the lover of her youngest daughter's first boyfriend. Since 1990, she has been competing with psychiatrist Taylor Hayes-Forrester, who has a similar history to Brooke's, for the attention of Ridge Forrester, the family's eldest son (and incidentally Brooke's former boyfriend, son-in-law, brother-in-law, husband (5 times) and brother-in-law (Nick). Taylor and Brooke have thus been sisters-in-law, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, rivals, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law (Taylor and Brooke's son).
