Harley (Jenna Ortega) is a 13-year-old girl who lives in Marshport, Massachusetts. She comes from a large family of seven children.
She lives with her father Tom, a fishing store manager, her mother Suzy, a housewife, her sisters Rachel (16), Georgie (15) and Daphne (6) and her brothers Ethan (14, Harley's older brother and partner in mischief, an aspiring musician and filmmaker) and twins Lewie and Beast (8). She considers herself an inventor. Some of her famous inventions are the conveyor belt table, the Slushinator, the Skate Kite, the Pick-Me-Up and a snow machine.
Harley is surrounded by Ellie Peters, Bethany's daughter, a neighbor of the Diaz family. She is Harley's best friend and is on the same basketball team as Georgie.
