Chainsaw Man
The new sensation from Asia
A big hit when it was broadcast in late 2022, Chainsaw Man is adapted from the manga of the same name released in 2018 by Tatsuki Fujimoto.
In a world where they are born from human fears, demons are dangerous and malevolent, their power being proportional to the fear they arouse. However, humans can make contracts with them to use their power, and there are individuals who specialize in hunting and using them, called Devil Hunters.
In order to pay off his father's debts, young Denji works as a Devil Hunter for unscrupulous yakuza. He is helped in his task by his friend Pochita, a small dog-like demon-hunter.
A demon can, under certain conditions, inhabit the body of a dead human, acquiring some of his memories and personality; such a creature is called a Fiend.
Nevertheless, after being betrayed, Denji merges with Pochita and becomes a Fiend. He takes the opportunity to slaughter the Demon-Zombie and the mobsters before a government team arrives on the scene. In exchange for his cooperation, Makima, their leader (with whom Denji immediately falls in love) offers him to join an experimental unit, Special Section 4, to track down the Gun Demon, one of the most powerful demons. If Denji succeeds, she will get any wish she wants. Accompanied by other Devil Hunters such as Aki, Himeno and Kobeni as well as Power (the blood hominidemon), the teenager sets off in pursuit.
