Davíd-Marcelo Arévalo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He attended Pennsylvania State University, in the United States, where he majored in Media Studies. He began using film as a medium to express views and ideas personal to him. He is inspired to tell stories that are both visually appealing and structurally interesting in relation to his upbringing, culture and identity. These also happen to be some of his research topics, and the former being featured in many of his films ideologies and philosophies. He has a background in Film History and experience working in high-budget and low-budget productions. He is currently curating a book of testimonials, which he hopes to turn into a film. He is also pursuing his graduate studies and hopes to become a Professor of Film, with a specialization in International Cinema.
