Gregory Thompson is an American television writer and producer. He grew up in Seattle, and studied Creative Writing at the University of Washington. After college, he moved to New York to work in marketing for the book and magazine publishing industry. After seven years in New York, he earned a MBA in Marketing from Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business. In 1992, after graduating, he did market planning for the Los Angeles Times. At the same time, he reconnected with screenwriter—and future writing partner—Aron Abrams. In 1995, Thompson quit his job to become a screenwriter. The writing duo worked on comedy television shows such as 3rd Rock from the Sun, King of the Hill, Everybody Hates Chris, and Bob’s Burgers. In 2010, Abrams died unexpectedly.
