Blue Beetle

Jaime Reyes is a superhero whether he likes it or not.

In a mountainous area of Antarctica, Victoria Kord (Susan Sarandon), who now runs the family business Kord Industries on her own, is leading an intensive dig for an ancient extraterrestrial artifact.

Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña, Cobra Kaï) has finished his studies and is reunited with his relatives in Palmera City: his parents, his sister Milagro, his eccentric uncle Rudy (George Lopez) and his grandmother Nana. The family lives in a working-class neighborhood of Palmera City, but is about to be evicted.

After losing his job at a luxury residence, Jaime is offered a job by Jenny Kord (Bruna Marquezine), Victoria's niece. The young woman strongly disagrees with her aunt's desire to create weapons. Jenny entrusts Jaime with a strange box, telling him not to open it. Back home, urged on by his family, Jaime opens it and discovers a small sculpture of a metallic blue beetle. The insect fuses with the young man, who becomes Blue Beetle, a superhero with superhuman strength.
