This is a guideline to start from. Based on multiple forum conversations and interviews, but at the end of the day, the best sound mix is the one that tells your story and helps convey it's theme and emotions, and is always open for creative influence or change, but sometimes it helps to see numbers to get started.

Master: 0 to -18db
Dialogue: -1/-5 to -10db
Effects: -1 to -22db

Our music varies between -18 and -28db, our dialogue peaks between -1 and -5db, so that's why it's labeled the way it is.

Dialogue: -6 to -12db
Effects: -3 to -18db

Dialogue: -12 to -16db
(peaks/screams can go as loud as -6db) (hardcore whispering can go as low as -20db)

Music: -3 to -35db
Background: -12 to -35db
