La flemme de traduire ma review pour le Reign messageboard tbh. Alright, let's go plot by plot even though they're all pretty much weaved together. • The Mary/Bash on-the-run scenes grossed me out like no other. It's the second time Bash does something sensual he's been asked not to do or told to forget. Checking her out like this as she was undressing gave me the creep like woah, and there you have it, the #1 reason why I can't get behind this ship. • Francis finally learnt about the prophecy. Was about damn time that he was finally offered some agency! He's been kept in the dark for far too long, this wasn't fair on him. And of course, he reacted as we all knew he would - determined on loving Mary in every way he can no matter what the outcome for him. I'm sorry but you don't get a more tragic love story than that. He would literally die by her side than live without her. Social status discrepancies are nothing compared to that. • Mary's legitimization idea. It wasn't very subtle, saw that one coming from the moment Tomas told Francis "You never learned how to take, like a bastard learns. Take a crown, take a woman, take a life!" I'm amazed at how much Mary loves Francis, so much that she's giving up her own personal happiness and marrying someone she doesn't love just because she wants to save him. But then again, she also mindlessly crushed him by doing that. Not only did Francis lose her, he also lost what had always been his entire purpose in life. Bash doesn't seem too happy with it either, until the end, where he's basically like "eh whatever at least I get to marry the girl who gives me the hots." I'm guessing the cons are soon going to outweigh the pros for him, though. Catherine also is right when she says that Mary's marriage to Bash may save Francis's life for a little while, but in the long run, it's going to kill him (and his brothers Charles and Henry). Maybe that's what Nost's prophecy was all about: "Mary's wedding to the next King of France will cost Francis's life," the next King of France here being Bash. Another of those self-fulfilling prophecy, like the one that killed Aylee. • The hatred Catherine and Henry have for each other gives me life tbh. I just hope Catherine's head doesn't get chopped off too soon - she's too amazing for that! (Heart in my eyes for her tbh.) The banter and political plays between those two are just perfect, love it so much. I'm also now more convinced than ever that Catherine is going to be behind the so-called "jousting accident" that kills Henry (if they keep RealLife!Henry's cause of death on the show, anyway). • I knew that Kenna knew! I've seen people say she was selfish for only caring about Diane's return, but that is not true. As far as she's concerned, as long as Mary is alive, well, and most importantly married to the Heir of the French throne, she's doing her job - and whether Mary is wedding Bash or Francis is rather irrelevant to her as . But Kenna knows that she should've been dead instead of Aylee, I hardly see how it's selfish to, you know, be worried the woman she thinks tried to kill her is coming back to court with more power than ever. She's scared for her life, boo what a bad person for trying to stay alive. • Francis is amazing - even when everything is taken away from him, he's staying classy. He could've revealed he and Mary had sex, cutting forever any chance she might've had to find another husband, but he didn't. His will to always forgive the people who keep betraying him is astonishingly beautiful, and I'm thinking this is what is going to kill him in the end. Toby nailed every single one of his scenes, this is someone who is going to win awards later, I'm sure of it. (He will never be nominated for an Emmy, lbr, Reign isn't their style.) • Clarissa is on the run! God knows what she'll do next... Overall this episode was everything I knew it'd be, and even better. I'm more convinced than ever that the "triangle" is only an obstacle for Francis/Mary, and I'm on the edge of my seat concerning Catherine and Nostradamus (his wound could be mortal, but I don't see them get rid of him just yet, he brings way too much to the show.)
