Happiness was no longer a commodity available to a select few but something we all had the right to seek. But, what is happiness, and how do we obtain it? It is a question many writers and philosophers have attempted to answer. Everyone desires to be happy, but the meaning of happiness is simultaneously personal and objective. We all assume what happiness is based on what we have learned from others and our own experiences. But, to obtain it is a different matter.
