E3 has always had something of a representation problem. From "booth babes" to a near-total lack of women presenting at major press events, the industry's biggest annual event hasn't been the friendliest place for women. But this year, we counted a far healthier number of women onstage presenting games and tech, as well as a stronger number of women featured as playable or central characters in the games themselves.
