The corpse of a young woman is discovered in a barrel filled with nails and shards of glass. This death is reminiscent of the medieval legend of Paracols. The suspicions of the police are immediately directed towards the husband of the deceased, a well-known painter from Collioure, whose outbursts of violence and jealousy are common knowledge. Alice Castel, gendarme in Collioure, and Pascal Loubet, officer of the Judicial Police of Perpignan, team up to solve this case. As they investigate, they realize that the case is much more complex than they imagined, and that the culprit will not be so easy to identify.
