We recently caught up with Brett Ambler, known by many as Kazoo Kid, to learn all about the backstory of his famous meme, how he feels about becoming a living meme, and if he's still rocking the kazoo today. It's FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN!
A bit of backstory:
In 2011 the internet was introduced to Kazoo Kid when YouTuber Jim VanBlaricum uploaded a segment of the episode "You On Kazoo" from the 1989 children's show "Special Friends" to his channel. However, the video wasn't widely spread online until 2014 when the Dead VCR YouTube channel uploaded an edited version of the episode. From there, numerous memes and remixes of "You On Kazoo" and Kazoo Kid were spread all over the internet.
