The Rogue Prince
Six months have passed since the death of the Queen and the appointment of Rhaenyra as heir. Ryam Redwyne, head of the King's Guard, dies and is replaced by Harrold Westerling. He and Otto select a new guard of knights. Rhaenyra chooses the knight Criston Cole despite the reluctance.
Visery takes comfort from his wife's death with Otto's 15-year-old daughter, Lady Alicent. Viserys confides in her about the state of his relationship with Rhaenyra, which has deteriorated since her mother's death.
With the idea of a remarriage of the King, Lord Corlys and his wife Rhaenys, Viserys' cousin, suggest their 12-year-old daughter, Laena, as the future Queen.
The ships of the Triarchy, led by Crabfeeder, attack the Westeros fleet. Corlys urges the King to intervene, who prefers to prepare the ground for future negotiations and alliances.
The Council learns that Daemon has stolen a dragon's egg and intends to marry his mistress Mysaria as a second wife. Otto and his army sail to Peyredragon to retrieve the egg.
Viserys announces that he will marry Lady Alicent, provoking the anger of Rhaenyra and Lord Corlys. The latter proposes a meeting with Daemon to propose an alliance.
