Nicknamed 'the killer of eastern Paris,' Guy Georges, born Guy Rampillon, was found guilty of the murder and rape of seven young women between 1991 and 1997. Arrested in 1998, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2001, with a minimum term of 22 years. His arrest was made possible through the use of his DNA, which led to the creation of the National Automated Genetic Fingerprint Database (FNAEG) in France.
