Last week, in celebration of the bright and bold future of Star Trek, we asked you to help us decide which crew member was the best of them all in the long history of Star Trek. Now, after thousands and thousands of 1v1 battles with matchups like James T. Kirk vs. Benjamin Sisko and Spock vs Geordi La Forge, the ultimate Star Trek crew member has been chosen.
So, who claimed the top spot for the best Star Trek crew member who boldly went farther than no one has gone before? Drumroll please…
With a commanding 95% win percentage, Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Jean-Luc Picard secured victory by winning 27,898 of his 29,365 battles. Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc was loved by so many around the world that he was chosen to make his grand return in Paramount+’s Picard, which is currently in the middle of its second season.
In what appears to be a fitting outcome, Picard’s dear friend Data and fellow crew member from The Next Generation placed second with a 91.2% win percentage. In fact, The Next Generation characters comprised five of the top 10 crew members as Worf placed fourth, William Riker placed fifth, and Geordi La Forge placed seventh.
William Shatner’s James T. Kirk, Star Trek’s first captain from The Original Series, won 83% of his battles and took spot #6. Chris Pine’s Kirk just made the top 25 by placing 24th with a 66.6% win percentage. Leonard Nimoy’s Spock, on the other hand, made it all the way to third place with an 88.7% win percentage. Zachary Quinto’s Spock placed 29th and Ethan Peck’s Spock took spot #51.
Rounding out the top 10 were Voyager’s Seven of Nine, Deep Space Nine’s Benjamin Sisko, and Leonard “Bones” McCoy from The Original Series.
On the opposite side of the galaxy, Star Trek: Prodigy’s Jankom Pog finished last with a win percentage of only 13.2%. At least his Prodigy crew members didn’t leave him behind as Dal R’El, Murf, Rok-Tahk, Zero, and Gwyn also secured spots in the bottom 10.
They were joined by Star Trek: The Animated Series’ Arex and M’Ress and Star Trek Discovery’s Ash Tyler and Adira Tal.
Are you wondering where your favorite Star Trek crew member landed, like maybe Voyager’s Kathryn Janeway? (She took spot #12!) For all the rankings, you can check out the full list of where all 102 Star Trek crew members who competed in this Face-Off ended up.
