Transcript:

After the ancient city of Xerxes was destroyed, two men were left standing. One travelled to Amestris, bringing the science of Alchemy, while the other travelled to Xing, with the healing art of Alkahestry. As generations passed, the Amestrian government employed state alchemists, acting as the country’s military. Drawing transmutation circles, they could perform impossible feats if they provided something of equal value, in keeping with the Law of Equivalent Exchange.

Meanwhile, in the rural Amestrian town of Resembool, Trisha Elric raised two sons, Edward and Alphonse, with her husband Van Hohenheim. But one day, Hohenheim left. Trisha fell ill and passed away, leaving Ed and Al to their neighbor Pinako and her daughter Winry. Heartbroken, the boys obsessively studied Alchemy, in which they both displayed a natural gift. In an effort to resurrect their mother, they attempted the forbidden alchemy of human transmutation, but what's the equivalent of a human soul?

In the accident, Ed lost his leg and, to save Alphonse's soul, sacrificed his arm to bind him to a nearby suit of armor. Ed also saw a god-like being in another realm before returning to his body. Now able to perform alchemy without a transmutation circle and armed with automail prosthetics, Ed must find a way to restore Alphonse's body. However, the answer may lie with the dangerous artifacts known as Philosopher's Stones.

Have fun!
