LORE - Demon's Souls Lore in a Minute!
Before King Allant's rise to the throne, the world was once victim to a scourge of Demons unleashed by The Old One, an entity of unfathomable power. The Monumentals, defined by those with prophetic knowledge, combined their knowledge of the Soul Arts to return The Old One back to its slumber. However, the Demon scourge had claimed nearly half of all humankind. Archstones were created throughout the world as a means of inter-regional travel and life was returned to these places.
The Nexus, a hidden temple that binds together the land of Boletaria, is a hub for souls hoping to reclaim their bodies. Below the Nexus is the slumbering Old One, which promises unlimited prosperity to any who gives himself up to it. King Allant the XII, hoping to bring this prosperity to his kingdom, gave himself to the Old One, thus awakening it and bringing about a colorless fog that swept the land.
Scouts were sent to investigate the fog but none would return, until Vallarfax of the Twin Fangs successfully returned. He learned that within the fog lie Demons who feasted on the souls of mankind and those who lost their souls, lost their minds.
You are Boletaria's last hope, a lone warrior brave enough to fight the demons of the Old One. Then there's that part where you're immediately killed in the tutorial. But you come back and now you're really Boletaria's last hope!
